15 Days Rwanda Gorilla, Chimpanzee & Wildlife Adventure one of the longest trip to do on a safari to Rwanda. The  adventure suggests a round circuit trip which leads to almost top tourist destinations in Rwanda. The trip will start from Kigali makes around drive and ends back in Kigali. According to this itinerary, will start from Kigali town drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park, return and take a route to explore Akagera National Park, then take a lyrical drive northwards to Volcanos National Park, drive to Lake Kivu, and Gishwati-Mukara Park and return back to Kigali. Adventures to undertake on this trip will include gorilla trekking, chimpanzee tracking, game drives, canopy walks, boat cruise, beach visiting, golden monkey tracking, volcanic hiking, bird watching among others. The trip is a relaxed luxury trip considering transportation and accommodation.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Kigali

This first day you will arrive in Rwanda via Kigali International Airport. Upon reaching Kigali, you will meet Early Trail Expeditions representative, the representative will be your next driver guide for the rest of your days to spend on a trip to Rwanda. The driver will welcome you, and give you a briefing on your trip and then transfer you to your lodge so that you can relax. Your dinner and overnight will be at your lodge/hotel in Kigali.

Day 2: Kigali City Tours

Today will take the Kigali city tour visiting the Kigali Genocide Memorial museum which narrates the in-depth about the 1994 Rwanda massacre. And will reach to the local Kimironko market interact with the locals, buy some of the organic fruits sold in the market. You do your city tour alongside your lunch en-route and return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park and Canopy Walk

Today will take unhurried morning drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park. The drive is about 3 to 4 hours and reaching will take an afternoon session of canopy walk. The Nyungwe Canopy Walk is a world class through the stunning suspensions. The Canopy walk leads over tallest forest overlooking the canopies which is an amazing encounter. After this astonishing elementary adventure reward will take drive and check-in at your lodge, relax, have dinner and overnight there.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking and Nature Walks

Today follow your day program and consider a morning session chimpanzee tracking. The track means going to the forest and start a search for the apes, and it’s never a guarantee, but with testemonies at least the opportunities are much higher to watch the chimpanzees. Chimpanzee tracking at Nyungwe forest leads into the tea leaves contours, thick forests, bamboos, according to the trip kind of chimpanzee group to track. Chimpanzees at Nyungwe are habituated and trackers have a chance for a close-up encounter. The track can last between 30 minutes to about 3 hours searching for apes into the deep of the forest. And finding them, you have a limit of one hour in their presence.

Following the track, you need to rest, and refresh, and after refreshing will take an afternoon nature walk through tea plantation watching several primate species, and bird species. Then afterwards will drive back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Isumo Waterfall Hike

Today take relaxed and guided walk through the thick forest following the made trial to Isumo waterfall. The hike will involve hikes and slopes to watching these hidden treasures of the park. The hike can last for about 5 hours to and from and coming back you’re exhausted just need to refresh and rest for the day. At your lodge will enjoy dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Transfer via Kigali to Akagera National Park and Night Game Drive

This day will take a relaxed road drive from Nyungwe Forest National Park southern Rwanda to Akagera National Park in the eastern region. The drive means to return via Kigali and then will take a clear drive to eastern border with Tanzania. The Akagera is the only savannah park where Rwanda get a chance to share on the East African savannah covering. Reaching the park with lunch en-route will take a rest and at night hours will take a night game drive. The night game drive is very rewarding with watching some of the predators actively hunting. The return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Game Drive and Boat Cruise

Waking up in the news realms of savannahs under sun arrays is an awesome moment. You will realized the bright sun arrays heating directly on the golden savannah. Then, you will have to enjoy your served tailored breakfast. You’re now ready to embark for a morning nature walks through the savannah, and swampy landscapes of Kagera along the Akagera River. With lunch en-route will hurry for the afternoon boat cruiser on Lake Ihema watching crocodiles, hippos, several water birds like shoebill stork, kingfisher among others, along the cruise a number of land mammas are seen drawing and relaxing at the Lake Shore. Then will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 8: Another Game Drive

Today will take a long day game drive through the golden savannahs of Akagera National Park. On this drive you will take a bird watching track through the swampy areas around River Kagera. There are number of bird species to watch alongside various animals, and will consider the rhino track to track the only rhinos in Rwanda. It’s a long day of game driving with the lunch en-route, then will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Transfer to Volcanos National Park

This day embark on a cozy drive from Akagera National Park to returning back to Kigali and accelerate your drive northwards to Volcanos National Park. It’s a long day drive which can last for about 8 hours with lunch en-route on a rare scenic drive with views of rolling landscapes. This continues rolls are based on to call Rwanda a land of a thousand hills. The drive will last for about 4 hours, and reaching with lunch en-route will take a community visit in the afternoon hours in Musanze. Then will check-in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Trek gorillas

Ensure a morning energizing breakfast, then packed with all trekking gears will drive to the starting point at Volcanos National Park at least 30 minutes prior to the trekking time. Be briefed about trekking, be grouped and under the lead of an armed ranger guide embark into the jungle for the day’s hunt. The search for the gorillas can last for 30 minutes to 4 hours walking into the rush, unmade path, sometimes moist and slippery grounds until your find the gentle giants in the deep. At the sight of the gorillas you have strictly one hour of watching and be entertained. Afterwards you will return to your lodge and rest for the day. Dinner and overnight at your lodge

Day 11: Golden Monkey Tracking and Visiting Dian Fossey Tombs

Today you’re to take a unique encounter of tracking the beautiful golden monkeys. The golden monkeys are endangered species and endemic to the Virunga forests which stretches to include Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, Volcanos National Park and Virunga National Park. The track starts in the morning at 8am, and a track can last for not more 4 hours. When rolled into the forest to search for the gorillas, you have a limit of an hour to ensure that explore all about these gorgeous primates.

Afterwards with lunch refreshments, will take an afternoon visit to the visit to Dian Fossey Tombs. This is the gorilla conservation center, and all about the ape conservation was initiated here. Reaching the center will have to learn more about gorilla conservation and the role of Dian Fossey on the prevailing future of mountain gorillas

Day 12: Bisoke Volcano Hiking

This next day will take a Bisoke Volcanos hiking trail. It’s this is one of the unique hiking trail in Volcanos National Park. The trail is rewarding with a lot of scenic, birds, rolling landscapes and among others. This long trek can last to about 6 hours to and from, hiking to about 3700ms. It’s a long day and at the end of it you’re exhausted just need to return to your lodge and relax for dinner and overnight.

Day 13: Relax and Transfer to Lake Kivu (Gisenyi)

Today will take a relaxed transfer to Kisenyi and have yourself relaxed at Lake Kivu. Take this day a relaxed one, and enjoy the vibe of the white sand beaches. Make it a day to chill out after the other days of wondering across the country. All meals will be at your lodge, and overnight.

Day 14: Spend a Days at Gisenyi

Spend your day relaxed at the sand beaches of Lake Kivu, and meditating on the awesome moments of the trip. Refresh and reorganize yourself after long days of traversing almost the all of Rwanda. Will take a boat ride on Lake Kivu to one of the islands.

Day 15: Transfer Back To Kigali for Your Returning Flight

All has been amazing with the trip, this morning with a lot of reflections and meditation about the beautiful and amazing moments on your trip. Embark on unhurried drive back to Kigali, and well drive straight to Kigali International Airport for your next flight back home.
