Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Uganda through Entebbe International Airport

Arrive in Uganda via Entebbe International Airport, reaching at the airport, Early Trail Expedition representative will be ready to receive you. Just know that the representative will be your next driver guide to handle your trip for the rest of your holidays in Uganda. Then will transfer to Kampala and check-in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Kampala City tour and Shopping

This second day in Uganda, you will first master the art of excitements within the capital. Kampala capital is greater numbers of tourist spots, but will take a drive to the Uganda Museum, Kasubi tombs and Old Kampala Mosque for an aerial view of Kampala. Then can as well consider taking sometimes shopping some of the things you would need for your trip.

Day 3: Transfer to Jinja with En-route to Sezibwa and Mabira

This morning will drive to Jinja city eastwards from Kampala with a branch over to Sezibwa and explore these amazing waterfalls. The cool and authentic serene of the waterfalls makes the falls a special spot to consider. Then another en-route will be at Mabira forest and spend the rest of the time here, will particularly undertake Zip lining adventure and sail under tree branches. Afterwards will have to drive for the remaining kilometers to Jinja and check-in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: White Water Rafting, Bungee Jumping and Boat Ride

This morning prepare for a supernatural adventures starting the morning session with white water rafting which is about 30 minutes’ drive along the Nile sailing. Rafting at Jinja on the source of the Nile is a world class rafting with 4 and 5 grades. The rafting takes about 3 to 4 hours and after will have to take a sip of an energizing drink and drive back to the bungee jumping spot. The fall leads you to kiss the Nile down to about 45m, with lunch refreshments will draw to the source of the Nile and take a boat ride to the point where the Nile receives it very first drop before setting for the longest journey of any river. After the full packed day of adventure, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Transfer to Mt. Elgon

Today take a rare drive Mt. Elgon eastwards of Kampala, the mountain has the world’s largest caldera and the 4th Africa’s tallest mountain. Take a shorter hike through plantations and caves alongside the lunch en-route is considered while hiking this amazing Mountain. The hike continues even on the second day. Will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Hiking Mt. Elgon and Transfer to Sipi

Today will take another trail of hiking, this time around will consider animal rewarding hike. The Elgon hike is rarely done but remains among the most rewarding adventure. The hike comes along with various animals views mainly antelopes, bird species and special tree species. The shorter hiking trails don’t ask for any kind of fitness. Afterwards will transfer to Sipi for your overnight.

Day 7: Hiking Sipi Waterfalls

Spend the day hiking the three phases of the beautiful Sipi waterfalls. Hiking through banana and coffee plantation walks will as well take on abseiling on the top of the falls. The waterfalls hikes are indeed amazing and offer a greater tastes at the foothills of scenic Mount Elgon. The hikes will come alongside lunch en-route, and will as well have a taste of the organic coffee at your lodge. Then will check-in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Transfer to Moroto with an En-route to Pian-Upe Game Reserve

Transfer to Moroto along the drive will en-route to Pian-Upe game reserve, Uganda’s second largest protected area after Murchison Falls National Park. Due to greater adventure rewards, the park has started gaining favor before several travelers who opt to explore it. Special things to find here include Ostrich, cheetah, elands, giraffes, lions, leopards, elephants, several semiarid bird species among others. Then after can recommend to drive to Moroto about three hours and check-in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 9: Moroto Manyatta Community Visits

Spend this day in Moroto exploring the unique and authentic traditions of the Karamoja people, the dwellers of the region. Will take a cultural visit to the Manyatta communities, discover stories, and get close to the daily lifestyle of these primitive people who have totally defiled the trails of civilization. Learn how cattle rustling is treasured as part of the Karamoja culture. Will visit the Manyattas, and enter into their huts and at end will take a drive alongside lunch en-route. The manyatta tour also takes to you for entertainment from the local people in their communities.

Day 10: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park

Take a relaxed morning, enjoy your served breakfast, and afterwards will take drive to Kidepo Valley National Park. This is an amazing scenic drive through the plateaus and open landscape that stretches to Kidepo Valley National Park. The drive from Moroto to Kidepo Park takes about 4 hours and will reach from the park by noon hours. Check-in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 11: Narus Game Drive and Community Visits

This morning you will board with an experienced armed ranger guide for a memorable drive. Kidepo is among Uganda’s most rewarding national park with great encounters among which include; prides of lions, leopards, herds of elephants, buffalos, several antelope species, several bird species, zebras, giraffes and many other wild species. The drive will continue through the continuing scenic golden savannah alongside acacia woods. The game drive will last for at least 3 to 4 hours when enjoying the glance on the amazing dwells of the park.

Then, will return to your lodge for refreshment, enjoy your lunch and take an afternoon visit the Karamoja community. Here will enjoy the Karamoja narrations, and their lifestyle stories. There is dancing presentations of which you have to engage. Then will return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 12: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park en-route Aruu Waterfalls

This morning drive to Murchison Falls National Park, consider an en-route to Aruu falls in Padar district along Kitgum-Gulu road. Aruu waterfalls are magnificent and nice looking falls where waters rush over white rocks and forms a larger pool where even guest can swim. Then will drive via Gulu with lunch en-route and finally in the late evening hours will be at Murchison Falls National Park. Then will check-in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 13: Murchison Game Drive and Boat Cruise

With packed breakfast will take an early morning game drive to watch sunrise arrays. It’s an amazing moment to encounter the wild under the arrays of the sunrise, imagine sipping and enjoying your breakfast under the legs of the sunrise. Just know that a game drive at Murchison is a germ of amazing things and expect to watch some of the Big Five animals (lions, leopards, elephants and buffalos). Larger schools of hippos at the delta, highest concentration of antelope species, towers of giraffes, warthogs, several bird species and a lot more. The game drive takes through several made driving trucks will all converge at the delta that has the highest concentration of animals.

After a game drive will relax, then after the lunch delicious served meals will embark for Victoria Nile Boat ride to the bottom of the World’s most powerful waterfalls. The boat ride takes about 2hours packed with views of various wildlife on the banks of the river, and aquatic life including monitor lizards, and crocodiles, several water birds, amazing features like cliffs among many encounters on the boat cruise. Then after will drive back to your lodge and relax for another day, dinner and overnight;

Day 14: Sport Fishing and Visit the Top of the fall

This morning unpack your fishing gears, or if you don’t have any, UWA staff can improvise for hire. The with a fishing guide will take a ride in a private speed boat to either along the Victoria Nile or around the delta and hook out Nile perch. The fishing session takes some hours and here it’s fun as it’s catch and realize adventure. The fishing can last for about 3 hours, with the main catch being Tilapia.

Following the lunch hour refreshments, will take an afternoon hike to the top of the falls. The hike starts from the top of the falls where you have a chance to watch how these huge rapids thunderously force into a narrow gorge forming that astonishing roar of pouring. The moist view of the Murchison Falls from the top is accompanied with a hike through the Baker trail covered with nonstop falls roars.

Day 15: Budongo Nature Walks and Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

This morning will drive to Budongo forest south of Murchison falls National Park. Take an afternoon forest nature walk, the Budongo is among a few reaming tropics in Uganda and gives you the breathtaking feel of authenticity. Several primates, bird species, few of animals and on a luck day will encounter the chimpanzees.

Then afterwards will drive to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track only wild rhinos in Uganda. This gives a complete list of the Big Five games after watch lions, elephants, leopard, and buffalos in Murchison and Kidepo. Ziwa is the only Wild Sanctuary where to find rhinos in their natural environment. The track can last for about 2 to 3 hours on a nature walk which is accompanied with several wild rewards of antelopes, birds and many other animals. Drive back to Masindi town for dinner and overnight.

Day 16: Transfer to Kibale National Park

Today will take a relaxed morning drive from Masindi to Kibale National Park via Hoima and Fort Portal. The drive to Kibale take about 5/6 hours, and reaching the park you will be exhuated for the day. Check-in at your lodge and take a rest the next long day. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 17: Chimpanzee Habituation

Alongside your energizing morning day break, packed with all your tracking gears will hurry to Kanyachu starting point for the day track. Chimpanzee habituation is a full day adventure where travelers head into the forest, search and follow the chimpanzees. When the chimpanzees are found, trackers have to spend about 4 hours with the apes. So, well prepared with packed eats, enough drinking water, wearing tracking gears. The chimpanzee habituation adventure is more than just a track but a full day spent with the apes. The habituation process is aimed at making the chimps used to human presence, these are known to be shy mammals which in most cases shy away in case of uncertainties. After the track, will return to the starting point, refresh and make your lunch. Then will rest at your lodge for the rest of the hours. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 18: Bigodi Sanctuary and Bigodi Community Visits

Succeed in this day with a visit to Bigodi sanctuary to track various primates. Kibale National Park is known for hosting the highest number of primate species about 13 primates. This is almost the biggest record in the world for one forest to host about 13 primate species. This makes Kibale forest the world’s primate capital. Among the primates to track in Kibale forest include; black and white colobus, red tailed monkeys, Mangebay, baboons, bush babies, L’Hoest, Vevert monkeys, pattas, pottos among others. The primate track is as well accompanied by several bird species, amazing tree plantations, and several mammals like bushbucks, among others.

En-route to Bigodi community where you will enjoy a special organic local dish for your lunch. The visit to Bigodi village makes you understand how the community is involved in the conservation of the protected areas around them. You can as decide to buy some of the souvenirs made from local materials from the wetland. The return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 19: Crater Lake Hikes

This is a greater day of experiencing heights. Will take a visit to one of the traditionally believed to be ancestral caves of the Bachwezi dynasty. Driving through Fort Portal will visit the Amabere Caves and take a Crater Lake hike. This is a cultural visit that tales about the ancient Bachwezi dynasty, this will take you to the cave under waterfalls, and finish the visit with a hike. This trail can last between 4 to 5 hours and then will refresh with lunch in Fort portal. The hike gives greater views of the Rwenzori ranges. Then will take your drive back to your lodge and relax.

Day 20: Transfer to Semuliki National Park, Game Drive

Today will drive to this unique and special Semuliki National Park. This is the birders haven with a lot of foreign bird species that are endemic to the Central African forests. Reaching the Semuliki Park will take a guided game drive which is done by Semuliki Safari Lodge. Special elephants which are a bit smaller, buffalos, and very many antelope species alongside warthogs and various bird species. Then will return and check-in at your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 21: Nature Walks and Sempaya Hot Springs Hike

Today will take a nature walk through the valleys leading to the amazing hot springs. The two breathtaking hot springs go through communities and plantation to a place where local think it’s a cleansing point. The Sampaya hot springs are divided into the female and male sections. The temperatures are greatly high at the female hot springs with the capability of boiling an egg. After reaching both hot springs you’re exhausted and you need to rest. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 22: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park’

This morning will take a relaxed drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park, the drive will pass via Fort Portal and en-route for lunch. Then continue on a drive to Kasenyi section of the park. The rest of the hours today to relax. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 23: Kasenyi Game Drive and Kazinga Boat Cruise

Today early morning with your packed breakfast will drive to Kasenyi section of Queen Elizabeth National Park for an incredible game drive. The meaning of driving with packed breakfast is to enjoy morning bloody sunrise with a bit, it’s very amazing. One of the rewarding game drive with variety of wildlife species including; elephants, Uganda kobs, bushbucks, buffalos, lions, warthogs among so many species to watch accompanied by several bird species.

In the afternoon hours with lunch en-route will drive to the Mweya peninsular, for a boat cruise on Kazinga channel. The wild boat cruise is an opening of watching more animals. Several animals are seen coming to the channel banks to draw water and the aquatic life seen either socked in water or lousily relaxed at water banks. Then, after will drive back to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 24: Kyambura Chimpanzee Tracking and Ishasha Tree Climbing Lion Tracking

This morning take a drive to this breathtaking Kyambura gorge, this is a unique tropical gorge planted amidst the golden savannah. The gorge is perfectly known for chimpanzee tracking, track the chimpanzee. The chimpanzees here are habituated and there are opportunities of encountering the species on a special close-up encounter. The track can last for 30 minutes to about 2 hours searching for the gentle giants in the tropics.

After you en-route for lunch and take a 2 hour drive to Ishasha sector to track the tree climbing lions. The unique tree climbing lions at ishasha have made it easy for a watch of the King of the Jungle lousily relaxed under tree branches.

Day 25: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Today will take a morning drive through Ishasha sector, track the tree climbing lions. Also the morning hours have their unique offer alongside several wildlife including buffalos, leopards, elephants and several antelope species. Then afterwards you board for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with lunch en-route. Will reach the park in the evening hours and enter the park via Buhoma gate. Relax, enjoy your dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 26: Bwindi Gorilla Tracking

This morning energize with morning breakfast, and hurry to the Buhoma starting point for trekking briefing. In a group of trekkers accompanied by an armed ranger guide will embark for a search for the gentle giants. This kind of Adventure is limited to the central African jewelry of Virunga Conservation Area and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The trek lasts for about 30 minutes to about 4 hours to find your assigned habituated gorilla family. The trek involves walking through the unmade paths, through moist thick jungle, hikes and slopes through hills and valleys and on finding the gorillas it’s a tiresome moment. But setting your eyes on the species, then you have to find out that all the tiresomeness is forgotten. Finding the gorilla, you will have strictly one hour before them, then will be walking back to the starting point. You will be very exhausted, you just need to drive back to your lodge and relax. Afterwards will take a drive to Kisoro and reaching Mgahinga Gorilla National Park will have your dinner and overnight.

Day 27: Golden Monkey Tracking and Batwa Community

This day you will hurry to go and track the endangered golden monkeys. The golden monkeys are only endemic to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda. The golden monkey tracking starts as early at 8am, so you have to be at the center in Mgahinga by 7:30am for the morning session. The beautiful and nice looking golden monkeys live in communities of over 30 individuals and more. These monkeys are habituated meaning tracker can have that close-up moment. The track in volcanic forests of Mgahinga can last for about 30 minutes to 3 hours and when found the brownish monkeys you have an hour in their presence.

Afterwards will take a visit to the Batwa community and explore the lifestyle of the Batwa people. The Batwa people are also known as the forest pygmies who once co-lived with the gorillas in the same forest. These people narrate their emotionally touching stories, and offer entertainment moments with songs and dances. Can also decide to buy some of their handcraft to support their livelihood.

Day 28: Volcanic Hiking and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Today it’s a long day of trekking the amazing Mt. Sabinyo. After taking your energizing breakfast, then will take a trek alongside experienced ranger guide who will be leading you. Trekking mount Sabinyo can last for about 7 hours to and from, it’s the most famous trekked volcano in the Virunga Massif. The trek covers about 8hrs taking a distance of about 14kkm, and reaching at the peak you then stand at 3669m above sea level. The trek goes through hikes and slope via hills and valleys until reaching the peak. Reaching the peak of you realize that you’re standing at the border of three countries Uganda, Rwanda and DR Congo. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

After the Volcanic hike will take a relaxed drive to Lake Buyonyi for dinner and Overnight.

Day 29: Spend your Day at Lake Bunyonyi

Today you will spend the rest of your day exploring and enjoying the beautiful scenery of Lake Bunyonyi. You take a boat ride to some of the islands and the most interesting island is the Punishment Island due to its story related to being an execution island for girls with early pregnancy. Then you will enjoy the sweet melodies of so many small birds swing around your lodge. Today you will spend another night at Lake Bunyonyi.

Day 30: Transfer back to Kampala, Entebbe for the flight back home

Your last day will take a fully packed and exciting drive back to Kampala. The return drive reaching Kampala makes it a full round circuit safari. Along the drive will en-route to Mbarara city for lunch and at the equator for photographs. Reaching Kampala by evening hours, then will drive to Entebbe International Airport for your flight back home.
